The idea is to set up a specific platform for "fungibility", and enable a services platform from it

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/fungible

" Able to be substituted for something of equal value or utility; interchangeable, exchangeable, replaceable. "

even "Rhizomatic Fungibility"

playing on fun, fungi , fungibility , and ability

for a "can" oriented intentional and distributed economic networks approach

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhizome_(philosophy)

Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari use the term "rhizome" and "rhizomatic" to describe theory and research that allows for multiple, non-hierarchical entry and exit points in data representation and interpretation.

as for fungi.bl ,

one of the ideas is that it can support "nomads".

Instead of "moving" their stuff, they can use "fungib.bl" to contribute their resource as a "fungi.bl" spime,

and get a similar unit wherever they go.

For example, instead of moving their ikea furniture from one city to another, or instead of dumping it,

they can "fungi.bl" their units, and get a similar one wherever they go.

I imagine that a fee for a "professional" aspect of the service could be there ?

Or else, it could all be free, and the value can come out of attracting people to contextualize more of all of their units, for a collaborative consumption platform...

cool idea. and maybe storage space is just another item, for example, emptiness in one place is basically equivalent to emptiness in another.

nice suggestion regarding storage space.

Yes, I also imagine there can be some ISO standard ( and perhaps there already is ) regarding the storage space ( in terms of temperature, moist, light conditions, ventilation, etc )

I was thinking about that option for the Leipzig project ( http://sharewiki.org/en/Leipzig_project )

Finding ways of providing income for a residential cooperative through using the empty space to store furniture, while at the same time having a contract with the owners of the furniture to reduce the cost of the storage of their furniture by allowing us to use it... :)

ISO standards.. good. shape, size, temperature, radiation, pressure, moisture, lighting, noise, ventilation, travel plans (for a shipping container or vehicle)... etc this will help enable nomadic eco villages.

/////

"spimed spaces" with various metadata.

iso characteristics can be entered into netention, and matched ( or overlapped ) with available objects
