Power over refers to the ability to get others to do things they would not ordinarily want to do. This type of power has four faces:
- Persuasion
- Punishment
- Rewards
- Force
Paralleling these four faces of power, there are four ways of thinking about resistance to power over:
- Refusal
- Voice
- Escape
- Creation
