Invented by artists as a way to promote their work, droplifting is the practice of secretly leaving items at a shop (- as a pun on shoplifting, the taking of items from shops), abusing the temples of profit and consumerism for the purpose of sharing.
Sometimes, for some people bookcrossing involves similar practices...
