Rainbow people

The Rainbow people are practicing a gift economy - for example on their gatherings with the magic hat:
While there is consensus that the meetings are kept strictly non-commercial, people collect money in a hat that is passed around (the magic hat) creating a communal fund - they give what they can, everyone decides on his own how much he can give, nobody has to justify himself for how much he gives or if he gives at all; from that they pay their (shared) expenses (mostly food). Trying to create a life contrary to the greedyness of capitalism - giving what they can, taking what they need, independently - without quid pro quo. ("Sharing creates abundance")
